THEATER CAMPS
Topsy Turvy Tales
Instructor: Lisa Breen
Ages: 4-6
Take a familiar story or fairy tale, such as The Three Little Pigs
and act it out according to the original script. Then it all becomes
topsy-turvy when youngest actors turn tales upside down and inside
out. Instead of huffing and puffing to blow the house down, the big
bad wolf becomes a shy, soft-spoken visitor and rather than hiding
in their houses, the three little pigs...well you get the picture.
The point of this exercise is to teach budding actors how character
drives story. Using simple costumes, participants will perform their
topsy-turvy tales for friends and family the last day of camp.
Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, 10-11:30 noon
Tuition: $85 + $10 materials
Center Stage Play
Instructor: Lisa Breen
Ages: 7-9
Brainstorm story lines, create characters and write your own script
to perform on stage for an invited audience. Young actors
collaborate and learn the importance of ensemble teamwork while
following a common theme to create a cohesive play involving all the
elements of stage, from movement and voice projection to basic
costume and set design.
